Live Dealer Roulette for Players In United States March 19, 2024

Live casino gaming is today an integral part of most internet gambling. The ability to play with a live streamed croupier, as opposed to RNG based games, is hugely popular among online casino punters.

The two most-played titles for live casino fans are the classics: roulette and blackjack. The spinning numbered-wheel has been a favorite for brick & mortar casino-goers for hundreds of years.

Today, online players can experience the prestigious thrill of a live roulette wheel and professional croupier from almost anywhere in the world.

Moving online has also opened up a world of possibilities for special augmented games, that combine virtual gaming technology with a real-live wheel, ball, and croupier.

Roulette innovations such as Hall of Gods Roulette from NetEnt or Lighting Roulette from Evolution Gaming have taken this classic casino game in new and exciting directions.

Many other companies around the globe have also put their own spin on roulette, and dozens of casinos now host live wheels from various developers.

Casumo

Casumo

Providers: Evolution Gaming

Live Roulette Bonus: No, but the regular bonus has 10% live casino contribution.

Casumo Casino provides 22 different roulette tables, all from Evolution Gaming. This collection includes Lightning Roulette, double ball roulette and three tables streamed from land-based casinos including the Grand Casino in Bucharest and The Hippodrome in London.

They also have great looking custom-branded Casumo tables, plus tables with German, Turkish, Swedish and Norwegian Live croupiers. Add to that almost instant withdrawals from Skrill, Neteller and PaySafe and you’ve got the makings of a great little live casino site.

Plus, their whole design is cutesy and charming with nice clean branding and smooth menu animations.

On the other hand, the only things Casumo are lacking is the option to use PayPal to deposit and a live casino specific sign up bonus. However, they do occasionally run suitable promotions for live roulette fans.

Rizk

Providers: Evolution Gaming

Live Roulette Bonus: 100% up to $250

Rizk is a new entrant in the live dealer casino space. Up until a couple of months ago they were all about slots. And now? Well…

Now they have a dedicated live roulette table, 2 Rizk branded live blackjack tables and a deposit offer catering to live dealer casino players. 100% match up to $250 and with a reasonable 70% wagering. Live roulette counts for 100% last time we checked.

You might of had noticed that Rizk is advertised in most spots across Online Casino US. That’s earned mainly thanks to their players-first approach.

Some of the things we love about Rizk are their VIP loyalty system through the Wheel of Rizk, fastest payout processing we’ve experienced and a very responsible attitude towards problem gambling. They are one of the few that actually let you “flush” the withdrawal with no means of canceling it.

Leo Vegas

Providers: Evolution Gaming, Authentic, NetEnt, Lucky Streak, Portomaso Gaming, Ezugi

Live Roulette Bonus: 100% up to $250

Featuring three different providers across nearly 60 live roulette titles, this Swedish casino has a top tier collection.

Leo’s heavy focus on mobile gameplay means their roulette tables are designed to work ultra-smoothly on almost any device.

Their live roulette selection covers classic styles, live casino-floor streamed games, special tables such as Blaze, Lightning, Double Ball or speed variants and more.

Leo also offers a live casino specific bonuses, and a very generous one at that. It is a 100% match up to $250 on your first deposit offer, with a 100% count on wagering requirements in live games. Which is great, because it does have a fairly high requirement of 70x.

Still, any kind of 100% playthrough live casino bonus is a boon – and Leo has a truly excellent live roulette collection player it through on.

Please see our full article on Leo Vegas for further details on this promotion.

Mr Green

Developers: NetEnt, Evolution

Live Roulette Bonus: Yes, separate 100% match bonus up to $100 available for live casino. 35x wagering and 10% contribution from live roulette.

Mr Green has a decent live roulette collection, including all the usual variants. On top of that they also have some of the best and most frequent live casino promotions and offers you’ll find, as well as the Mr. Green Live Beyond Live Experience.

This Mr. Green exclusive set of games, made in partnership with NetEnt, was originally trialled for mobile users only. However, today you can play it online.

Combining a virtual penthouse casino floor with no less than five casino game tables, the immersive Live Beyond Live Experience allows users to seamlessly move between baccarat, roulette and blackjack – without leaving the lobby.

Even Mr. Green himself will stroll over to the tables on occasion, as helicopters fly by outside. All the other tables are visible in the background while you play at your chosen seat, for a real casino floor vibe.

In terms of mobile compatibility, reputation and banking systems Mr. Green is top-tier. However, it is it’s this Swedish casino’s promotional game that really shines.

Every month live casino players are showered with special promotions, including live casino tournaments, account cash drops, raffle entries with fabulous prizes and even more. Themed celebrations also occur regularly, such as certain roulette numbers giving bonus prizes on the respective date.

Check out our Mr. Green review for a deeper look at their promotions.

BGO

bgo logoNumber of Tables: 16

Live Casino Bonus: Yes. 100% up to $300 for live roulette play.

The smallest collection of our favourite providers, all BGO’s roulette choices are powered by Playtech.

However, a smaller collection doesn’t invalidate the site’s other qualities. With a nice full-screen desktop client for the live casino lobby, one of the best live casino bonus around and a clean and simple user experience – BGO might just be an attractive prospect for live roulette players.

That bonus offer is 100% deposit match up to $200. Not bad to start with.

The real draw though, is the relatively low 40x wagering requirement on it. Compared to the 70x of some top casinos on the market, this is very fair indeed for a live casino welcome offer.

BGO’s collection also includes Age of the Gods roulette, Football Roulette, speed varieties and more. They may only have one developer, but their selection still covers a decent range.

A bit more variety would not have gone amiss though.

The Best Sites Have...

With such a dizzying array of choice out there, how do players know which is the best option to choose? Luckily for you we’ve compiled a list of the essential factors to think about when selecting an online casino to play at.

Supplier Variety

Live Roulette Supplier Variety

The best live dealer roulette sites have taken a multi supplier approach. They offer a diversified playing experience by having 5+ individual suppliers on board. Leo Vegas is a great example of this, having 7 live casino suppliers under one roof.

With nearly a dozen developers to choose from, any top-tier live roulette site should have at least two different providers on their books.

Ideally, you want one of the big three of Evolution Gaming, PlayTech or NetEnt – and then a few of the others, such as Pragmatic Play, BetConstruct or Authentic Gaming.

Each live roulette developer uses slightly different rule sets and interfaces, as well as their own special versions of the game. Choosing a casino with a comprehensive selection of tables allows you to try any or all of them out and discover which one works best for you.

sign up bonus Applicable to Live Roulette

Dedicated live casinos are great to see as a live roulette fan.

This is because of wagering requirements. Most casino bonuses use this format, and often wagers on live roulette will not contribute at all to the playthrough condition. If they do, it may often be at a very reduced percentage.

Therefore, it’s advisable to always look for a provider with either a live casino specific sign up bonus or regular extra promotions for live casino players.

Private or Exclusive Tables

Private tables are a casinos way to stamp their own mark on a developer’s live roulette tables.

The developer provides the technology for the game, but the casino will have control over the decorations and the exact specifics of the gameplay.

This also enables casino exclusive offers and promotions, such golden cards with special prizes or bonuses upon pulling certain combos of cards.

Special Roulette Tables

Roulette is a classic game, but in today’s modern market of high-tech computer games and fancy slot game animations some people might want a bit more.

Special live roulette tables offer the classic authenticity of a real spinning wheel and croupier, but with the added bonus of computer-generated effects and new themes.

More often than not, this also means new ways wins prizes too.

Another kind of special table is those that are live-streamed from an actual land-based casino floor.

These are broadcast from prestigious casinos around the globe including the Dragonara in Malta and The Hippodrome in London. These tables offer less interactivity but have the added buzz and feel of a working physical casino floor.

Fast & Convenient Withdrawals

If you win big (or small even) on roulette, you want to be able to access your winnings in a quick and efficient manner.

There should be a large range of payment options available suiting players from many countries. This should cover bank transfers, e-wallet payments and more.

Withdrawals should ideally take no longer than 48 hours, with no fees at all at any stage of the process. A decent range of currencies is also a positive, as is a swift and courteous customer support system should you have a query or problem at any point.

After all, if the roulette is lightning fast action – then shouldn’t your casino transactions be too?

Flexible Betting Limits

Roulette is a great game for players of all budgets. A top-tier online casino will allow straight up bets as low $0.10 a spin and go up to $10,000 or more.

The best developers also offer high-limit tables with a classier VIP feel to proceedings. These even include tables where players can only enter if they have a certain amount of cash in their casino account, or others that allow only one high-rolling player at a time.

Top Live Roulette Providers

Evolution Gaming

Evolution Gaming is the top dog developer when it comes to live dealer games in general, and that holds true for roulette.

This Latvian live casino specialist has high-quality studios all over the world. Their dealers are professional and courteous, the stream quality is always excellent, and they have the slickest and easiest-to-use interfaces.

Evolution live roulette tables cover eight different languages as well as VIP ‘Salon Prive’ tables and speed tables.

Not only all that, but Evolution are the go-to provider for private or custom casino tables and have also developed several unique and award-winning variations of classic casino game, including Lightning Roulette.

Lastly, they also stream 11 roulette tables from land-based casino floors across the world. This is biggest collection of any developer who provides these kind of games.

NetEnt

NetEnt live roulette tables go down the computer imagery route for their backgrounds. The wheel and the croupier are real, but everything else is done with a green screen. This can be a good or bad thing, depending on your point of view.

What is undeniable though, is that this system lets them create fantastic themes for their games. For example, their speed roulette title, Rocket Roulette, has a space theme with planetary views and sci-fi outfits for the croupier.

However, the speed of each spin is still 42 seconds – quite a bit slower than Evolution’s or PlayTech’s comparable games. NetEnt has also closely collaborated with casino Mr. Green, to create an interactive multi-table penthouse suite experience that includes two roulette wheels. Called the Mr. Green Live Beyond Live experience, it is well worth checking out.

Lastly, NetEnt tables often have higher limits than some – going up to £100,000 a spin – but this is dependent on the casino in most cases.

Playtech

Playtech’s live roulette tables are second only to Evolution when it comes to the quality of the stream and the player interface. They include speed tables, enabling faster play, and VIP tables for true high-rollers.
They also have their own unique roulette title, which is based upon their hugely popular mega-jackpot slot title Age of Gods. Age of Gods Roulette is a traditional American rules, European Wheel (single zero) game for the most part.

However, the dealer will be dressed up in a toga or some other appropriate period clothing, and the background of the studio is made to look like Mt. Olympus with ornate columns, fires and tall vases.

The main attraction though, is the massive jackpot. Often over £1 million, it is funded by a 1% rake on all bets – which is not bad at all.

Lucky Streak

Lucky Streak only offers one version of roulette, and that’s a European wheel with American rules.

Players can choose to keep the camera fixed for the smoothest betting experience or have it switch between a few different angles, adding some extra cinematic excitement to every spin.

Players can tip the dealer during Lucky Streak games, which is always a cool little option. However, sometimes the croupiers here are not quite as 100% professional as with Evolution or NetEnt for example.

On the whole though, Lucky Streak Live Roulette is well worth a look. You can try their titles out for yourself today, at Leo Vegas.

Authentic Gaming

Malta’s Authentic Gaming solely focus on live roulette, which was always going to result in better tables for this specific game. The eight-strong Authentic Gaming collection covers:

  • Live Roulette Original
  • Live Roulette Professional
  • Live Roulette Superior
  • Double Wheel
  • Auto Roulette 30 & 60
  • Lucky Ball Roulette

The Superior roulette table here is a French game, with the en partage rule.

Live Roulette Professional and Original are extremely similar American rules games on a European wheel. The Professional option adds a few extra betting options, such as the racetrack, and also more camera angles.

Auto Roulette 30 is a speed variant, with no live croupier. The ball and wheel are still real though, and it takes 30 seconds to run each spin to completion. Auto Roulette 60 is the same, but with 60 seconds to take your turn.
Duo Roulette combines these two into one screen and players can choose which wheel to bet on – or both.

Lucky Ball Roulette chooses four random numbers on the board each turn and makes them green (paying 6:1), blue (12:1), orange (20:1) and purple (25:1). Players can then place straight-up bets on one of these numbers, winning the respective payouts should ball land on that number. One of these is also chosen as a bonus, offering 5x the regular payout.

That’s more-than-decent collection from Authentic, with a nice variation of titles. However, not being able to interact with (or even see) the live dealers on many of their tables, means they lose some appeal.

Vivo Gaming

This Israeli company streams out Costa Rica, with just two live roulette games in their collection.

Both tables are filmed in one giant room, with a host of blackjack and baccarat games also going on. This gives a nice casino floor fill to proceedings.

We’d also not that the ViVo Gaming hosts are mostly women, in, err, more revealing outfits than you’d find at some other casinos. Could be an attraction for some.

Regardless, they are efficient and professional croupiers. Just don’t expect the same level of presentation and smoothness as Evolution tables, for example, and you’ll be fine with ViVo.

ViVo games are available today at CloudBet.

BetConstruct

BetConstruct may only have two live roulette tables, but they aren’t afraid to offer something a little different.

A basic European wheel with a virtual top-floor cityscape view behind it, the standard BetConstruct table actually looks great. High quality streaming and presentable hosts make for an aesthetically pleasing experience.

Players can also choose to make special bets, such as split bets or snake bets – the latter of which we’ve never seen in any other live roulette game.

Also available is Live Zodiac Fortune, a roulette style game based around the signs of the Zodiac. A title that may not be for everyone, but possibly worth a look at for long-time roulette fans looking for something new.

Make up your own mind and try BetConstruct games out today at their own casino, Vbet.

Special Live Roulette Tables

There are a number of special roulette tables out there online right now. However, it is these four that are most worthy of a mention here:

  • Lighting Roulette from Evolution Gaming
  • Age of Gods Roulette from NetEnt
  • Live Beyond Live from NetEnt & Mr. Green
  • Blaze Roulette from Authentic Gaming

Age of Gods Roulette and Live Beyond Live we discuss at other points of this article, in the NetEnt and Mr. Green Casino sections specifically.

That leaves Lightning Roulette. This award-winning title from Evolution, uses Random-Number-Generation for its bonus sections, combined with a real-life roulette wheel, ball and croupier.

Each spin, as the ball is rolling around the wheel, virtual lightning will shoot from the studio ceiling onto the betting table. This will highlight between one and five numbers as bonus numbers, which will give 50x to 500x the win on any straight-up bet that was placed on them.

This adds some extra excitement, prizes and theatrics to the usual roulette experience, and it has proved very popular with players and casinos since it launched in 2018.

Live Roulette Bonuses

We’ll say it straight – because of the low house edge on roulette, you’re less likely to get attractive welcome bonuses. In fact, you’d be lucky to get any.

This is because low house edge, low variance games make it easier for canny players to ‘game’ the bonus money for a profit.

This means, if you get a live casino focused bonus at all, it will probably have a fairly high wagering requirement.

Beware standard casino welcome bonuses, as their wagering requirement may not often work at all with live casino slots. Lower than 10% or even zero contribution on live casino is fairly common for welcome bonuses.

French vs European vs American Roulette

These terms often confuse players, since they can refer to three different things: the table, the wheel or the rules of the game.

In general, since live roulette is not in a physical casino, when the different types are mentioned online it will usually be referring to the wheel and the rules.

European

A European roulette wheel has only one green zero on the wheel. This gives a house edge of 2.7%. Contrast that with an American wheel, which has two zeros and a house edge of 5.4%, to see why players looking for the optimal edge should pick a European wheel.

French

French roulette is usually, but not always, played on a European wheel. The key difference being found in the rules.

In the French version of the game, the table has one of the two following rules: La Partage or En Prison.

These rules effect all outside bets (that’s Odd, Even, Red, Black, High, Low) in play when the ball lands on zero. Under La Partage, you only lose half your bet. Under En Prison, your bet remains locked in for a second spin – but if that pulls another zero, you’re out of luck.

There are some cosmetic differences in the betting table between French and American roulette as well, but they shouldn’t affect gameplay at all.

American

American roulette wheels have two zeros. Players also completely lose on all wagers, including outside bets, on the instance of a zero.

Most live roulette developers and casinos use a European Wheel with American rules as standard tables. The best option is French Roulette with the En Prison rule on a European table.

Tables Streamed from Land Based Casinos

Powered by Evolution Gaming

Evolution hosts 11 live streamed roulette tables from casinos around the world. Which ones you’ll be able to play at any one casino varies, but the full list is:

  • Casino Aviator
  • Casino Malta
  • Dragonara Dual Play
  • Genting Manchester
  • Grosvenor Dual Play
  • Hippodrome Grand
  • Resorts Atlantic City
  • Genting Dual Play
  • Roulette Live Mayfair
  • Hippodrome Casino

Here, Dual Play means both online and physical casino customers place bets on the same table. The others are always legitimately filmed in a land-based casino but are often not accessible by customers on the casino floor.

As with all Evolution titles, the production quality is top-tier with an easy-to-use interface and friendly but professional croupiers.

As per the nature of a real casino, not all of these tables will be available 24-hours a day.

Powered by Authentic Gaming

This developer specializes only in live roulette – meaning each and every table is crafted to perfection for this specific casino game. They have four streamed tables in their portfolio, from some of the world’s most prestigious casinos:

  • Authentic Roulette Casino International
  • Authentic Roulette Foxwoods USA
  • Authentic Roulette Saint Vincent
  • Authentic Roulette Royal Casino

Their Foxwood’s table has the distinction of being the only US-based live casino-floor roulette table that we know of.

The Saint Vincent table is also filmed from the spectacular Alpine mountain location of the St Vincent Resort in Northern Italy. Although, sadly, you don’t get to see the majestic views from the roulette table.

Powered by Portomaso Gaming

Portomaso’s live streamed casino-floor roulette collection covers three tables:

  • Portomaso Roulette
  • Roulette 360
  • Oracle Casino Roulette

Roulette 360 is by far the best option here. With multiple camera angles, as implied by the 360 name, and 1080p streaming, this game does a good job of conveying the atmosphere of the floor at The Oracle Casino in Malta.

However, multiple angles and HD-quality is something you get as standard from the top-of-the-pack live roulette developers. Not so from Portomaso – as the other two games are sadly lacking here. The announcer voice is overly loud and robotic too which was quite jarring during our playtest.

Which is a shame, because Roulette360 proves Portomaso are otherwise capable of creating a good live stream experience.

Our Preferred Branded Tables

One of the big advantages of playing at casino brands that do focus on the live casino vertical is being able to play at their private tables. With blackjack the benefits are obvious, as you will always have a seat open, but what are the benefits of private roulette tables? Two big ones come to mind:

  • The croupiers have less players at their tables, which means that you get a lot more attention if you are looking for a chat.
  • Any casino that is investing into opening their private table will most likely also run some sort of promotions on them. You benefit from additional value for doing what you’d do anyway – play live roulette.

Below you’ll find our favorite branded roulette tables.

Casumo

Casumo have the most playful and laid back attitude at their tables. They’ve got multiple live blackjack and a single live roulette table with their branding.

The rules are what you’d expect from a normal Evolution Gaming powered table – European wheel and layout.

Playing with Bitcoin

Bitcoin is an increasingly popular way of gambling across the globe. Security and anonymity are the granddaddy of cryptocurrency’s biggest selling points.

However, this means almost Bitcoin casinos operate a little bit under the radar. That doesn’t mean there aren’t safe and reputable places available to gamble your BTC though.

So, if you’ve got some spare BTC sitting in your online wallet and fancy betting with it, where are the best places to go?

BitCasino.io

BitCasino.io has over 20 different roulette tables, from a range of developers including Evolution Gaming. These are as quality as you’d expect from Evolution.

BitCasino.io though, also hosts roulette tables from lesser-known developers at Western online casinos. This includes Asia Gaming, Quickfire and Dream Gaming. Players should be warned the quality does vary with these titles, however.

Bitcoin withdrawals and deposits are super-fast at BitCasino.io. They have a Curacao license, which isn’t the best available. Bitcoin casinos don’t have many other options in the current market, however.

CloudBet

CloudBet on the other hand, has only a Montenegro license – which is hardly well-known at all.

However, the trade off for that is extremely high-limit, anonymous gambling with Bitcoin – as well as a huge 5BTC bonus.

Although it takes nearly a year to fully pay off, if you plan on being a long-term CloudBet customer their bonus could be worth some serious money.

Also, with Evolution Gaming on board, players can at least be sure that CloudBet’s live casino games are both reputable and subject to outside oversight and licensing.

CloudBet hosts about a dozen live roulette tables, from Evolution, ViVo and Ezugi. Bets go up to 4BTC per spin, which (although it fluctuates) can be worth around £15,000.

FAQ on Live Roulette

Not really, no. For the optimal experience we’d recommend either making a small deposit or claiming a no deposit bonus offer.

Avoid the American Roulette – be that the RNG or live dealer variety.

This variation offers no additional features or extra entertainment, but the two zeros give it a high house edge of 5.26%.

Easy to see why it is the worse choice when compared with the reduced 2.70% edge on the European wheels or with the French rules.

Yes, but it’s not very common. 888 and Party Casino are two sites that pair a great live roulette collection and overall experience, with PayPal deposits for US players.

Absolutely. All the casinos listed above offer a great playing experience on mobile devices.

Our favourite provider for mobile live roulette is Evolution Gaming and we prefer to play on the Casumo mobile app.
