The History of Barcrest

Launched in Manchester in 1968, Barcrest had made quite the name for themselves over 30 years (primarily through their land-based arcade, bingo, and slot games that were found in pubs, bars, and arcades all over the UK) when they were bought out by IGT in 1998, and this saw the beginning of Barcrest’s real impact on the online casino world.

The huge advances that Barcrest made in the iGaming world over the next decade-plus caught the eye of Scientific Games, who purchased Barcrest from IGT in 2011 for $33 million.

Barcrest makes no secret about what they do. This is not one of those developers looking to push the boundaries of graphics and animations, the focus is not on realism, and intense, dark, and epic themes are not on offer here.
